Work at home.

Everybody's doing it!
Thank you for requesting this information about the various types of work at home jobs in the...

Real Estate Industry.

You know what they say in real estate.  Sell!  Sell!  Sell!

To make that happen, sometimes lots of different people work together as a team.  Frequently, with many members working at home.  In other offices, a lone real estate broker may do all his/her own work. Again, he/she frequently works at home.

In larger real estate offices, sometimes employees are allowed to work at home stuffing envelopes with advertisements that are mailed to different neighborhoods.

Real estate agents themselves also involved in other work which can not be done at their own home, such as showing property, and they are usually also required to take turns putting in some front desk time at the brick and mortar real estate office, but a large majority of real estate agents spend the rest of their time at home.

Another work at home job supported by real estate is the appointment setter, or telemarketer, who makes calls and tries to set appointments for the real estate agents.  Another job created by many real estate offices is for data entry clerks who are create computerized mailing lists of residents in specific neighborhoods so the sales agents can call on them.

Virtual call center agents who work for extremely large real estate companies, real estate publications and mortgage companies can take a virtually unlimited number of types of calls at home and are used to handle sales and service for virtually any type of call.  Most call center agents who work at home are required to log in a certain number of hours per week and at pre-agreed times, but they are often free to select the times that they work.

Although the real estate industry doesn't employ a typically huge support staff, forcing instead its agents to do all the clerical work, virtual administrative support personnel can include virtual secretaries, virtual assistants (the home-based version of the traditional administrative assistant), research assistants and many others.  Some of these work at home positions also require time with the employer in one on one communication, but these types of support personnel can provide a great deal of service to his/her employer by working independently and communicating bottom line information to his/her employer by fax, phone and/or the internet.

Some of the most effective real estate agents employ a personal assistant, or a virtual assistant, who does their paperwork, makes calls, verifies appointments and generally helps the real estate agent use his/her time selling instead of doing mundane administrative or clerical tasks.

Other support personnel might include legal assistants, researchers, data entry clerks, envelope stuffers, analysts, special event coordinators, travel planners, public relations personnel, general assistants, freelance artists, consultants and many more.

Technical computer-related work at home jobs may include such positions as programmers, system analysts, network technicians, internet security consultants, systems analyst, systems operators.

Mortgage companies often employ their own employees to try to get mortgage sales from real estate offices.  While this involves a lot of face to face contact, it may also allow work at home time for making calls, doing research, etc.
